Winston Churchill Costume
From the 1988/1989 landmark epic television mini series comes this very iconic historical character costume worn by Robert Hardy as 'Winston Churchill'.
Featured in several episodes the costume is the signature costume associated with one of history's most important world leaders and is instantly identifiable as such. This very impressive set comprises of a Homberg style Hat, a Shirt, a Waistcoat, a spotted Bow Tie, a Jacket, a pair of Braces (suspenders), Trousers, Shoes and a underneath padded 'fat suit'.The costume and it's components retain their original Costumier bags (3) with the Jacket, Waistcoat, Trousers and 'fat suit' all having an internal Angels Costumiers sewn in label detailing the actor and year date '1989'. The Hat has 'C.B.C.' and 'Beaverbrook' hand written internally on the brim, likely due to alternative subsequent production use.
It is always difficult to find any costume in such a predominately complete state, particularly with footwear, but the fact that this is such a multi-component costume makes it a very special costume indeed. As well as being highly memorable from the series itself, the costume is obviously instantly recognisable as being the costume as worn by Winston Churchill.
