FLASH GORDON (1980)

A two piece costume understood to have been made for production but ultimately not used.

Comprising of a floor length heavy coat like garment with velcro and press stud fasteners and featuring a wide red pleated material drape around its centre. With separate over the shoulder shawl like wrap, multi-layered with large shoulder epaulettes which are internally wire framed. There are clip fasteners to either side of the internal neck of the shawl so it is possible there may originally have also been a joining front central section, which is now missing.

The shawl is made of the same types of materials as seen in identified costumes used in the movie.

One shoulder epaulette's internal wire frame is bent otherwise in overall very good condition.

An interesting pre-production costume from the science fiction cult classic.
