This is one of the handful of 'Helmet Gremlins' used during production to enable the skilled puppeteers to individually operate multiple

Gremlins simultaneously for certain sequences. The 'Helmet Gremlin' idea was one repeated by Rick Baker(creature/make-up effects legend)

from those used in the first Gremlins movie by Chris Walas (creature/make-up effects legend). 

The Gremlin is exquisitely detailed and painted, to include individually fixed finger nails and teeth.
